When it’s too hot to explore the hiking trails and other popular outdoor activities in Arizona, visiting one of the state’s water parks is the perfect solution for having fun on your summer family vacation! 

Each of these water parks offers something special for all ages to enjoy—like a vortex whirlpool, giant wave pool, and tons of thrilling tube slides! There are even non-aquatic activities to enjoy at some locations, like miniature golf for kids and a resort spa for adults. 1. Oasis Water Park 

Oasis Water Park is located at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. It covers seven acres of land, and it’s one of the most popular Arizona water parks. 

Popular attractions at Oasis Water Park include eight fun water slides, a giant wave pool, a hot tub that can fit up to 25 adults, and a side-by-side lazy river!

2. Big Surf Water Park 

Big Surf Water Park is located in Tempe, Arizona, and has been providing family fun to the Phoenix Metro area since 1969! 

Some of the most popular attractions at this water park include the Waikiki Beach Wave Pool, Hurricane Slides, and The Black Hole. They also have fun attractions for younger kids, including Bora Bora Bay and Otter Slides.

3. Mesa Golfland Sunsplash 

Mesa Golfland Sunsplash is located in Mesa, Arizona. It is actually two separate parks combined into one—Sunsplash, a water park, and Golfland, an amusement park, making it a great destination for a full day of summer fun!  

At Sunsplash, visitors can enjoy thrilling rides like Thunder Falls and The Cauldron whirlpool, or you can relax as you float down the Lazy River.  

At Golfland, visitors can enjoy year-round fun riding go-karts or bumper boats, playing mini-golf or laser tag, or visiting the arcade. 

4. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix 

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, formerly known as Wet ‘N’ Wild Phoenix, is a huge water park with over thirty thrilling rides and attractions.  

Some of the highlight attractions at Hurricane Harbor include the Desert Racers, a mat racing slide, the Tornado funnel ride, and the giant Mammoth Falls water slide. 

Visitors will also love the huge wave pool at Hurricane Bay and the Anaconda—a tunnel water slide that’s been highly rated by Travel Channel’s “Extreme Water Parks” program. For kid-friendly fun, visit the Soak’em Playground play structure to get soaked by the dumping buckets.

5. Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Water Park 

The Great Wolf Lodge Water Park located in Phoenix is one of the best water parks in Arizona—it’s entirely indoors, so you can stay cool during the sweltering hot summer!  

This water park features tons of fun attractions, including Chinook Cove, an activity pool where kids can play water basketball, Crooked Creek, a lazy river, and Alberta Falls, a thrilling tunnel slide the whole family will love.

6. River Ranch Water Park 

The River Ranch Water Park at the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak, formerly known as the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort, is the perfect water park for the entire family—the parents can relax spa guests while the kids play at the waterpark.

River Ranch is popular for its massive lazy river, pools, water features, cabanas, and water slide. Parents will also love Coyote Camp—a program filled with educational events, activities, and water fun available for children aged 4-12 in half-day, full-day, or evening sessions.

The Desert Oasis Aquatic Center offers a zero-depth entry area for kids, a deep-water drop slide, shade ramadas, a sand volleyball court, a lap pool, and more! 

8. Hamilton Aquatic Center 

The Hamilton Aquatic Center features an eight-lane competition pool, play pool, interactive play structure with a splash zone, water vortex, lazy river, and two water slides. 

9. Anthem Community Center Aquatics Park 

The Anthem Community Center Aquatics Park offers a competition-size pool, two diving boards, a water park with two water slides, a splash pad for kids, and even a rock-climbing wall inside!
