Scottsdale, Arizona, is known for its sunny, dry weather and high-end luxury shopping, so, as you can imagine, combining these two hallmark features of Scottsdale into one experience — outdoor shopping — makes for a prevalent pastime in Scottsdale, AZ.

If you’re looking for outdoor shopping in Scottsdale, several outdoor shopping centers across the city offer a wide selection of luxury retailers, popular name brands, and specialty stores. So, grab your wallet and sunglasses, and let’s explore all the best places for shopping outdoors in Scottsdale!

Best Outdoor Shopping Malls in Scottsdale

Kierland Commons

A man and woman are walking down a sunlit outdoor shopping area lined with trees and modern storefronts. The woman is wearing a sleeveless striped top and a black skirt, while the man is wearing a blue polo shirt and light-colored pants. They are walking past a store named "Athleta." The sidewalk is covered with a decorative overhead structure, and other shoppers can be seen in the background.

Kierland Commons is an outdoor mall on Scottsdale Road and Greenway Parkway that offers dozens of high-end retailers, dining options, and free parking.

Popular retailers at Kierland Commons include Michael Kors, Sur La Table, Madewell, and Anthropologie. Between shopping, grab a delicious meal at Zinc Bistro, Postino Winecafe, North Italia, or Snooze, an A.M. Eatery (one of the best spots for brunch in Scottsdale!). This popular outdoor mall in Scottsdale, AZ, also hosts several fun community events, like live music nights, art and wine festivals, and more.

Scottsdale Quarter

Scottsdale Quarter is just across the street from Kierland Commons and offers a similar experience: shopping, dining, and entertainment in an open-air shopping mall.

Notable retailers at Scottsdale Quarter include the Apple Store, Restoration Hardware, Kendra Scott, lululemon, and Sephora. Popular restaurants include Etta, Culinary Dropout, True Food Kitchen, and Zinburger. Scottsdale Quarter is even home to a movie theatre, Landmark Theatres, and Puttshack, a tech-infused mini golf experience and one of the best indoor golfing venues in Scottsdale.

Old Town Scottsdale

Old Town Scottsdale offers some of the best outdoor shopping in Scottsdale. The shopping in Downtown Scottsdale is split into different districts, including the following:

  • 5th Avenue — The shops on 5th Avenue are the “touristy” shops in Old Town Scottsdale. Here, you’ll find boutique shops and local galleries, and it is a great place to shop for a souvenir. This street is also lined with some of Scottsdale’s best restaurants and bars.
  • Arts District — Located on Main Street and Marshall Way, the Arts District is one of the best shopping centers in Scottsdale for exploring local art galleries, boutiques, and museums, like Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West (one of the best museums in Scottsdale).
  • Scottsdale Waterfront — Located right across from Scottsdale Fashion Square (one of the best malls for indoor shopping in Scottsdale), the Scottsdale Waterfront is a shopping and dining district with popular retailers, like Urban Outfitters and David’s Bridal and award-winning restaurants, such as Maple & Ash and Olive & Ivy Restaurant.
  • Scottsdale Old Town Farmers’ Market — As one of the best farmers markets in Scottsdale, the Scottsdale Old Town Farmers’ Market is a great place to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and delicious culinary creations on Saturday mornings from October to May.

Biltmore Fashion Park

The image captures a street lined with palm trees and cars in motion, with people walking around and entering shops. Prominent signage includes "True Food Kitchen" and "MACY'S." The area is well-lit with a mix of natural and artificial lighting, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere for outdoor shopping in scottsdale

Though Biltmore Fashion Park is technically located in Phoenix, it is close enough to Scottsdale that it is worth mentioning as one of Scottsdale’s best outdoor shopping centers!

Biltmore Fashion Park offers 60+ high-end shops and restaurants, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Ralph Lauren, Anthropologie, Blanco Cocina + Cantina, and The Capital Grille. In addition to its premier shopping and dining options, Biltmore Fashion Park is also home to Life Time Biltmore, one of the best gyms in Scottsdale, and hosts community events, like blood drives or movies in the park.

The Promenade Scottsdale

Located between North Scottsdale and Kierland, The Promenade Scottsdale is an open-air shopping center with more than 60 stores and restaurants. Unlike some shopping centers in Scottsdale that market exclusive brands and high-end shopping, like Scottsdale Fashion Square, The Promenade offers more well-known brands, like Nordstrom Rack and Old Navy, and even grocery stores like Trader Joes.

Popular places to eat include sit-down restaurants, like Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant and Picazzo’s Healthy Italian Kitchen, as well as quick-serve options, like In-N-Out Burger. Service-related businesses, like Club Pilates and Elements Massage, can also be found at The Promenade.

The Shops at Hilton Village

The Shops at Hilton Village is an intimate shopping and dining district in Central Scottsdale, with 25 shops, restaurants, and service providers.

At The Shops at Hilton Village, you can shop at chic boutiques like To Be Continued or The Linen Tree, selling everything from women’s clothing to home furnishings, or get a manicure, eyebrow wax, or massage at one of the shopping center’s spas or salons. You can also grab a coffee or smoothie at Starbucks or Nekter or sit down for a nice meal at a local restaurant, like Born & Bred by Aftermath or Urge TapHouse Kitchen.
